Hospitals carry big budgets, until recently, the pubic has not
questioned their spending. Hospitals are in trouble for many
reasons:
- Medicare is not giving enough money for treatment
- Hospitals and doctors are not able to carry liability insurance
and our state legislators are doing to pub a cap on claims-our
doctors are graduating from local hospitals and moving to states
where there is a cap on spending
- Charity care provides care for all, including foreign
nationals-many sick patients visit their families in Hudson County,
then return home to their countries when the treatment is ended,
hospitals must absorb the loss by cutting services
- Finally, hospitals are going under do to greed-The CEO's are
paid too much-including the CEO who is bailing out Bayonne Hospital
with a $50,000 a month salary!
